Purpose of the training

How does a fire extinguisher work? How do you quickly and effectively extinguish an emerging fire?

An efficient and well thought-out evacuation procedure can literally save lives.

With sufficient knowledge about fire prevention and firefighting equipment, you make all the difference in an emergency situation.

Target group

The training is designed for members of the first intervention team,

evacuation team and firefighting service in high-risk companies.

Training content

Theory:

  • raising the alarm - witness to fire
  • first intervention - objective and options - what to do in case of fire
  • what is fire
  • the fire triangle
  • fire classes
  • the spread of fire
  • hazards for first responders - smoke
  • extinguishing agents according to fire classes

Practice

  • fire electric appliance / electrical cabinet - extinguishing with CO2
  • extinguishing water-foam on 1m² hydrocarbon fire
  • extinguishing with powder on industrial objects
  • extinguishing a fryer with a fire blanket
  • extinguishing solids
  • personal fire - use of fire blanket
  • use of wall-mounted reel

Certification

  • Passed = you will receive an "Attestation, Small fire extinguishers".
  • Not passed = you may try again by repeating the course.
  • The company receives an evaluation form for each participant with the scores obtained on the tests and an individual recommendation.

Entry requirements

  • Minimum age 18 years
  • Valid medical certificate declaring suitability

Practical arrangements

  • To be brought along by the participants:
  • SAFETY SHOES and IDENTITY CARD

Duration of training:

  • 4 hours
  • Attestation validity:
  • 3 years

Training location:

  • LOGIS at Oudsbergen / Waarloos
  • On your premises, if the necessary training requirements are met (sufficient equipment and practice space)
